PRESIDENTS' NOTE

If

If the last two years gave us anything

it gave us time to slow down, contemplate our priorities and interest,

appreciate small pleasures and renew our commitment to the club's mission.  We look forward to continuing doing gratifying work in conjunction with municipal, county, and community partners.

This season our theme is "Digging Deeper".  Members will receive a golden shovel as a reminder that good things await if we only dig in.  The wonderful cover illustration depicts some of the topics we can unearth as curious gardeners.

Our slate of programs will expand our knowledge about wildlife from the tiny hummingbird to the animals that live right among us but are often unseen.  We'll delve into how we can all do more individually and as a community to create thriving habitat.

As a club, our commitment to giving back to the community runs deep.  This year we are adding another layer by encouraging donations not just during the holidays but also at the beginning and end of our season to support our local food banks.  SGC is now a recognized local partner for Wreaths Across America which means our contributions go even further for the project

Sometimes we ust look to the past to more clearly see the future.  As we begin to gather in person regularly again, we can tap into each other's extensive horticultural knowledge and the club's vibrant history.  embers gardens will be visited, Milestones achieved by our membership will be celebrated.  New ways to grow vigorously in the future will be envisioned together.

Your friends,

Judy Bonanno and Rachel Weston
